Canning Cheddar and Nacho Cheese

On Friday April 29, 2011 I decided to can Cheddar and Nacho Cheese.

Heating the bottles for 20 min. at 250 degrees.  Then fill the pint jars.

Put the sealers and lids on the jars and then put them in the canner for a 20 min. boil.
After they boil for 20 minutes they are done.  Cool them on a rack
and label and put away after they cool.
I was able to can 18 pints of Cheddar Cheese and 6 pints of Nacho Cheese.

I learned to can Butter!

Get the pint jars.
Heating the jars to kill the bugs.
Unwrapping the butter and getting it ready to melt.
Melting the butter and bringing it to a slow boil.
My friend Paul Stetler sturing the melted butter so it wouldn't burn.
16 pounds of butter went into 16 pint jars... not bad in just 4.5 hours.

Getting Ready for the Family Reunion

We have been getting the Family Park ready for this year's Family Reunion.  Here is a new cabin we have just completed building for the use of the family.  It is 11 X 23.5 feet and has several windows and we still have to build a few thing on the inside.
Here we are leveling the ground and building the foundation to the cabin.
Next; the walls went up and then we started on the roof.
We took a break for lunch and then back to roofing the cabin.
Next we installed the windows and here it is all finished.
Now we have a little work to do on the inside to make it livable
and ready for the 2011 Farnworth Family Reunion!
Next we did some work on a front deck and outside trim.

Disneyland - The Happiest Place on Earth

I went to Southern California with Tim and Katrina and their three children. We stayed in Las Vegas on the way there and then visited with my brother Jerry and then we visited Jonathan. Then we spent five full days at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure.
We went to the M & M Factory and I bought an M & M Peanut Pillow.
Kyra, Tyler and Karissa had fun there too.
Jerry showed the kids his 1932 Ford he built.
We all love his red Ford!
Jonathan just finished putting in a new patio.
With Minnie in California Adventure.
Tyler and me with Mater and Lightning.
I had a fight with Mr. Incredible!
Next we went to Disneyland and the Small World music is still ringing in my head.
Me, Tim and Katrina and their family with the castle in the far background.
Goofy and I were modeling our Goofy hats.
Mickey and I go way back!!!
We went to visit Minni at her home.
I was attempting to do some heavy lifting!!!

Grandpa Jackson, Tim and grandson Tyler - 3 generations of having fun at Disneyland.

There is a great video that explains the nuclear woes being experienced (CLICK to see unembeddable clip) and images to accompany it.  (CLICK to see)

Grafting Peach and Plum Trees
Cut the new peach branch to be grafted onto a plum tree.
Prep the plum tree and insert the peach branch to be grafted in.
Wrap the graft with tape and secure the new branch.
Dress the grafted area with plant dressing so it will heal.

This last one is a smaller graft of two types of peach trees.
